About Ms. T
I registered with the Ontario College of Teachers in 2012, and I taught across schools in the York Region District School Board from 2018 to 2025. I teach English from Grade 6 to Grade 10, and I work on the things that sit around the subject as much as the subject itself: how to plan an essay, how to study for a test that is a week away, and what to do with the nerves the night before.
Students call it Ms. T's Learning Pod. Sessions start with what is actually happening. The assignment due Thursday, the test that went badly, the paragraph they have now rewritten four times. Then we work on that, with slides and notes they keep afterwards.
A student who can name what is hard is already halfway through it.
Why Ms. T teaches these subjects
I teach English from Grade 6 to Grade 10, and I teach the things sitting around it too, because that is where the marks actually go. Not on the ideas. On the planning, the timing and the night before. Those three are teachable and almost nobody teaches them.
