About Madame Coelho
I have taught French in Canada, England, France and Portugal, under four different curriculums. That is exactly why I do not teach the language as a set of rules to memorise. Each country arranges French differently, and the one thing that survives all four is this: a student needs a real reason to say the sentence out loud.
My master's from the University of Toronto is in child study and education, and my first degree from York is in French studies, so I work from how children actually pick up a second language rather than from a textbook running order. Lessons are built on dialogue, real scenarios and francophone material students would watch anyway.
I speak English, French and Spanish. I teach French from Grade 1 to Grade 12, and English to Grade 6.
Why Madame Coelho teaches these subjects
I have taught French under four different curriculums, and the differences between them taught me what the language actually needs. Not rules first. A real reason to speak. My master's is in child study, so I work from how children pick up a second language rather than from a textbook running order.
