Students Ms. Bouchard is best with
Secondary students facing an essay, an oral or an exam in their weaker language. Also students who like a good story and just need the right book to become an avid reader, which is why we work from online books they pick themselves.
About Ms. Bouchard
I earned my Quebec brevet d'enseignement in 1999. I spent nearly eighteen years teaching at Polyvalente de Charlesbourg with the Centre de services scolaire des Premières-Seigneuries, then two more at École secondaire Vanier. All of it was secondary school, and all of it was language.
I teach English and French from Grade 7 to Grade 12, and I already build my lessons around online books rather than worksheets, because a student reads more when the text is something they chose. Sessions run on what the student brings: the essay due Friday, the oral presentation they are dreading, the grammar rule that never stuck.
I work in both languages, which helps when a student needs the explanation in one and the practice in the other.
Why Ms. Bouchard teaches these subjects
I have taught language at secondary level for twenty years, in French and in English, and I teach both because Quebec students live in both. A student who can move between the two without panicking keeps that advantage long after the exam is over.
